The Old Mill Loft, 31-33 High St, Headcorn, Near Ashford, TN27 9NE Telephone: 01622 890682 Open Facebook Page Headcorn is a village and civil parish in the borough of Maidstone in Kent. The parish is located on the floodplain of the River Beult south east of Maidstone.
The village is eight miles from the county town of Maidstone, on the A274 road to Tenterden. In addition to the parish church, dedicated to saints Peter and Paul, there are also churches and chapels for the Methodist, Baptist and Roman Catholic congregations.
The Village Tea Rooms is the tea room that I have visited the longest, over 25 years and I would not return if I did not love the place, albeit under different owners.
The building is not built for tall people so if you are like me you may hit your head occasionally, and I still do after 30 years!
This tea room is really a lovely place and is added by the gift shop that sits inside the tea room - beautiful tea room with beautiful and unusual gifts.
The food is quite special with a good range of food on the menu. Scampi and chips I like, or the baguette with crispy bacon and cheddar cheese is really nice and tasty accompanied by a pot of tea of course!
Headcorn has some very nice little shops and The Village Tea Rooms sits nicely in the High Street. Outside tables are offered and the gift shop has been reduced over recent years to increase the table area inside, which has lost the homely gift shop appeal, sadly.
The staff are really nice and pleasant and always very welcoming.
Of course, after 30 years of visiting a personal recommendation from me is a must. Please take a visit and enjoy this very lovely English Tea Room and you will surely not be disappointed.
The tea room has encountered several owners over the years, so it does change from time to time.
