St. Margaret's at Cliffe is a three-part village situated just off the coast road between Deal and Dover in Kent. The heart of the village is about 3/4 mile from the sea with the residential area of Nelson Park further inland and St Margaret's Bay situated along and below the cliffs north of South Foreland.

I drove up a track to get to the lighthouse but I am told that a 20 minute walk is what most people enjoy when visiting the lighthouse. Not sure about the walk back after eating two scones and downing a pot of tea..!

This tea room is actually inside the lighthouse and has a traditional theme to it; old wooden style table and chairs stand on a wooden floor. It is airy and the views of the seas are, quite literally, stunning and sitting eating and enjoying the views on this beautifully sunny day was a joy.

Scones and cakes are offered alongside tea and other drinks. I did not notice if snacks are offered as there were no table menus.

A walk around the grounds to relax is a must.

Recommended with plenty of parking but driving can be difficult across grass and mud tracks. Best to park and walk the track.

I popped in for lunch and had a baguette with bacon, lettuce and tomato with a pot of tea.

It was a quaint tea room with light white walls and low white ceilings, round tables with green plastic table cloths, and a matching green vinyl floor. Quiet and peaceful little tea room with excellent food. Tea was a little weak but well appreciated.

The menu had special boards: cream of roast onion soup; roast vegetable mozzarella quiche; chili con cane, rice and bread; onion, roast pepper and mozzarella quiche; Stilton and garlic mushroom and salad; and homemade scotch egg and salad. Also a selection of fresh cakes and scones.

The St Margaret's at Cliff area is a stunning part of Kent with beautiful pine gardens and countryside.

I met the manager who is a chef by trade and has managed this tea room for sometime.

I can recommend this tea room located in a stunning area. Plenty of free parking is available.
