Stow-on-the-Wold is a small market town and civil parish in Gloucestershire. It is situated on top of an 800 ft hill, at the convergence of a number of major roads through the Cotswolds, including the Fosse Way (A429). The town was founded as a planned market place by Norman lords to take advantage of trade on the converging roads. Fairs have been held by royal charter since 1330 and an annual horse fair is still held on the edge of the town.

Huffkins is a well placed tea room in the centre of Stow on the Wold known locally as the 'Square'. The glass window frontage and beautiful tea rooms where you could spend hours eating, talking and the new tea room craze—window viewing!

This lovely tea room is tastefully and nicely lit up with spot lights, loads of beams, an elevated area of seats as well as a lower area; tables, nice and calm feel. Marble top tables give a different feel to the more traditional tea room. An old picture frame houses the daily special board which is a very nice touch. Very nice wood style floor to the lower and elevated area.

In this tea room there is a double menu; afternoon teas and light snacks and the main menu of salads, Huffkins classic burgers, Scottish oak smoked salmon , speciality and traditional sandwiches, baked potatoes and there children's dishes.

There is also a nice large canvas style picture on the wall in black and white or old style that gives a friendly and warm feel about the place.

Yes, this is a modern tea room with air conditioning which perhaps slightly clashes with the traditional tea room themes of yesteryear but the warm and friendly service by staff and the clean and immaculate look really is a special and relaxing place.

No doubt about it...I would highly recommend Huffins Tea Room and would strongly advise you to take a visit and take lunch there. Stow in the Wold is a popular area, so parking is always challenging.
