Quarry House Tea Room, while not adhering to the traditional aesthetic often associated with classic tea establishments, presents a refreshing modern take on the tea room experience.

The design embraces simplicity, characterised by clean lines and contemporary furnishings that create a welcoming atmosphere.

The menu, though basic in its offerings, is thoughtfully curated to focus on quality ingredients and appealing flavour combinations.

This blend of minimalism and focused execution allows Quarry House Tea Room to attract both casual visitors and those seeking a more sophisticated option within the modern café landscape.

To savour a toasted tea cake and a pot of tea, I visited this tearoom with my wife, Dr Sandra Beale-Ellis, as depicted in the image below.

I found my interaction with Angie to be quite enjoyable. She was exceedingly polite and diligent in her efforts to guarantee the efficient operation of this tea room. I have informed the proprietor, who was not present during my visit, that she required additional assistance to be candid.

Overall, it successfully strikes a balance between accessibility and culinary quality, making it an inviting destination for the tea enthusiast, casual diners and residents of Quarry House.

As Quarry House Tea Room embarks on its journey, may every detail be polished to perfection, leading toward a unparalleled success.

ABOUT ALDINGTON

Aldington is a civil parish and village located in the Ashford District of Kent. The village centre is situated eight miles (13 km) southeast of Ashford.

Aldington is a town that is steeped in history and boasts over 50 structures of historical or architectural significance. St Martin's Parish Church was originally the chapel for one of the Archbishop of Canterbury's residences, which remains in ruins. The adjacent parish church of St. Martin was also embellished by Archbishops Morton (1486–1500) and Warham (1508–1532), who notably favoured and improved Court Lodge Farmhouse, its manor house, and hunting lodge. Henry VIII of England acquired and expanded the mansion, park, and chase (1000 acres) in 1540. The complex is purported to include five kitchens, six stables, and eight dovecotes.

The Aldington Gang, an infamous band of smugglers who wandered the marshes and shores of Kent plying their trade, established their stronghold in Aldington after the Napoleonic Wars.

The Walnut Tree Inn served as the headquarters of the gang's commanders, Cephas Quested and George Ransley, who were both from Aldington. These individuals were responsible for the delivery of their contraband. A tiny window is located on the southern side of the inn, where the gang would illuminate a signal light for their confederates on Aldington Knoll.
